Chip designed the wing to provide high-speed stability and enhanced rear-end downforce. The Gurney flap at the back of the wing adds additional downforce, while the TIG-welded end plates help direct air over the wing element. These features make the wing more efficient than older designs.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe TIG-welded aluminum stand-offs were purposefully designed to mount the leading edge away from the body, allowing cooling air to reach the engine unimpeded.
