Privacy Policy

This policy describes what we collect when you use washburnsmetal.com or the Shopify storefront, and what we do with it. Plain language; no dark patterns.

What we collect

Order information. When you place an order we collect your name, billing and shipping address, email, phone number, and the payment information you give Shopify Payments. We do not see or store your full credit card number - Shopify and the issuer handle that.

Project information. If you contact us about a chassis or fabrication job we may collect your vehicle year/make/model, the part numbers you reference, and any photos you send.

Site usage. Standard Shopify analytics: pages viewed, referrer, browser, IP-derived approximate location. We use this to fix bugs and figure out what people actually look at on the site.

How we use it

• To fulfill your order - pick, pack, ship, refund, warranty.
• To answer your questions about fitment, parts, or services.
• To improve the storefront and the catalog.
• To send you transactional email (order confirmation, shipment notice, returns). We send marketing email only if you opt in.

Who we share it with

The minimum necessary to run the shop. That includes Shopify (storefront + checkout), our shipping carriers (UPS, USPS, FedEx, freight LTL), our payment processor, and Google Analytics for traffic data. We don't sell your information. We don't share it with marketers or data brokers.

California residents (CCPA)

You have the right to know what we have, to request a copy, and to ask us to delete it. Email washburnsmetalshop@gmail.com with "CCPA request" in the subject and we'll respond inside 30 days. We do not sell personal information to third parties under the CCPA definition.

European residents (GDPR)

If you're in the EU/UK, you have the same rights to access, correct, or delete your information. Same email address, same 30-day response window.

Data retention

Order records: 7 years (tax and warranty obligations). Email correspondence: as long as the project is active plus 1 year. Marketing list: until you unsubscribe. Site analytics: 26 months (Google Analytics default).

Cookies

Shopify session cookies (cart, checkout). Google Analytics. That's it. We don't run retargeting pixels, Facebook pixel, or similar.

Updates to this policy

If we materially change what we collect or how we use it, we'll update the date at the top and post a note in the announcement bar for 30 days. Continued use of the site after the change means you accept the updated policy.
