Returns Policy

Effective May 1, 2026

30 days, no question games. If something doesn't fit, doesn't work, or you changed your mind - we want it back so the next person can have it.

Window: 30 calendar days from the delivery date shown by the carrier. We get plenty of time for cars built over weekends - if you need longer because the project's stalled, email us and we'll honor reasonable extensions.

What's returnable

  • Stock catalog parts - returnable in original packaging, unmounted.
  • Lightly test-fitted parts - returnable if they're undamaged and re-saleable. We'll inspect on receipt.
  • Wrong-part-shipped or defective-on-arrival - returnable any time, full refund + return shipping covered.

What's not returnable

  • Custom-fabricated parts (any item tagged "made to order" or "custom" on the product page).
  • Installed items showing wear, paint, or fluid contact.
  • Electrical components after they've been wired in.
  • In-shop fabrication and labor charges already performed.

How to start a return

  1. Email washburnsmetalshop@gmail.com with your order number and the part(s) you want to return. Photos help if there's a fitment or damage issue.
  2. We'll send a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number and a prepaid label for defective/wrong-part returns. For change-of-mind returns, you cover return shipping.
  3. Pack the part with the RMA number written on the outside of the box (or printed on the label). Drop it at the carrier listed on the label.
  4. Once we receive and inspect the part, we'll refund to the original payment method within 3 business days. Bank settlement adds 2-5 business days on top of that.

Exchanges

For wrong-fitment exchanges (you ordered the '67-up brake set when your '64 needs the early kit): we'll ship the right part as soon as we get the wrong one back. If there's a price difference we'll bill or credit it on the second shipment.

Restocking fees

None on stock catalog items in original condition. 15% restocking on opened-but-unused items (we have to inspect, repackage, re-photograph for the listing). 25% restocking on freight body panels (return freight is on us if the panel arrived damaged; the customer pays return freight on change-of-mind).

Damaged in shipping

Photograph the package before opening if the box looks beat. File a carrier claim through us within 7 days of delivery - email us, we'll handle the carrier paperwork. We'll ship a replacement immediately.
