These are the terms that apply when you buy from us, drop a vehicle off, or commission fabrication work. Standard small-shop terms - no surprises.

1. Who you're dealing with

Washburn's Metal Shop is a small fabrication shop in Orange, California. We sell parts (mostly air-cooled VW and Porsche), and we do chassis work, metal work, and complete vehicle builds in our own bay. The owner is Brian. The web stuff and operations is Thomas.

2. Orders and payment

Prices on the site are the prices. Sales tax applies in California where required. Payment is collected at checkout via Shopify Payments. We may cancel and refund any order if we discover the listed price was a clear data-entry error - we'll email before doing that.

3. Shipping

We ship from Orange, CA. Domestic orders ship within 2 business days when items are in stock. Free US ground shipping on orders over $250 (excludes oversize body panels and freight items - those have their own surcharge tier and are flagged on the product page). International orders are calculated at checkout. Body-panel orders to international destinations may require a quote.

4. Returns

Standard 30-day return window from the delivery date. See our Returns Policy for the full process. Custom-fabricated parts and one-off chassis work are not returnable - those are tagged on the product page where applicable.

5. Fabrication and chassis services

For in-shop work (chassis squareness, panel work, builds): we'll give you a written estimate before any cutting. Estimates are good for 30 days. We bill in 25% increments at start, midpoint, and finish. Final 25% holds the keys until paid. We document the job with photos at each stage and ship those to you.

6. Fitment

The fitment data on each product page is our best information. We use OEM cross-references, supplier specs, and our own bench checks. If your application is borderline (modified pan, custom IRS swap, body-on-non-stock-chassis), call us before you order. We'd rather talk you out of the wrong part than process the return.

7. Warranty

Manufactured parts carry the manufacturer's warranty (varies by brand). Our in-house Washburn's-branded items carry a 12-month workmanship warranty - if it breaks doing what it was designed to do, we'll fix or replace. Abuse, off-design loading, or modification voids the warranty.

8. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by California law, our total liability for any claim is limited to the price you paid for the item or service in question. We are not responsible for consequential damages (engine damage from a wrong-fitting part, downtime, loss of use). Drive at your own risk; we sell parts, not insurance.

9. Intellectual property

Site content, photos, and the Washburn's Metal brand are ours. Don't copy them onto another commercial storefront. Customer photos in the Customer Builds section are used with permission of the owner.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Orange County, California.
