"The Original" Washburn's Delrin Performance Shift Rod Bushing (Model #CH01)
Stop settling for the vague, "mushy" shifting of factory-style rubber or cheap aftermarket plastic bushings. Designed and torture-tested by Washburn's Metal, our Performance Shift Rod Bushing is the ultimate upgrade for your VW's shift linkage.
CNC-machined in the USA from Virgin Delrin® Homopolymer, this bushing is engineered for maximum rigidity and a lifetime of service. With a tensile strength of 11,000 PSI and a compressive modulus of 450,000 PSI, it provides a crisp, bolt-action shift feel that standard bushings simply can't match.

Key Features & Benefits
Superior material: Unlike standard nylon or recycled plastics, our Virgin Delrin® won't degrade, swell, or soften over time.
Integrated Snap-Lock design: No retainer clips or safety wire required—just position the bushing and snap it into the hanger. Once you hear the "click," it's locked.
Easy serviceability: Use 90-degree pliers to compress the tabs and it pops right out of the hanger.
Universal fit: Fits all serviceable shift rod hangers, including original OEM German hangers and high-quality aftermarket replacements.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will this fit my year Bug? Yes — fits all Beetles 1960–1979, including swing-axle and IRS models. Works with the original German shift rod hanger and quality aftermarket hangers.
How is this different from rubber or nylon bushings? Rubber bushings compress and tear; nylon swells with heat. Virgin Delrin® stays dimensionally stable for the life of the part — your shifter feels the same in year 10 as it does on day one.
Do I need any other parts to install it? No. The Snap-Lock design eliminates retainer clips and safety wire. We recommend a touch of dry graphite lube — that's it.
What if my shift rod hanger is worn out? If the hanger is distorted, the bushing won't snap tight. Replace the hanger first — we sell quality replacement hangers.
Does this work on a Manx or kit car? Yes, as long as it uses a standard VW shift rod hanger.
