Installation Guide: Step-by-Step
Note: This kit requires a high-amperage ground path. You must run a minimum 10-gauge ground wire from the alternator body to the engine case studs.

Safety First: Disconnect the negative battery terminal.

Remove Old Unit: Remove your existing generator or alternator, along with the stand and backing plates.

Install the Stand: Mount the new alternator stand to the engine block. Ensure the surface is clean for a proper seal.

Wiring Preparation: If converting from a generator, bypass the external regulator. Connect your main B+ (battery) wire to the post on the new alternator.

Grounding (Critical): Install a 10-gauge ground wire from one of the alternator's body bolts directly to the alternator stand studs on the engine case. This ensures the high-output amperage has a clear path and prevents damage to the internal regulator.

Assembly: Install the 3-piece backing plate set onto the alternator. Mount the alternator to the stand and secure it with the included strap.

Pulley & Belt: Install the alternator pulley and belt. Adjust shims as necessary to ensure proper belt tension and pulley alignment.

Final Check: Reconnect the battery. Start the engine and verify that you are seeing 13.5V to 14.5V at the battery terminals.
